Unravel the mystery of a town in the central United States that captures every entry. Check out our list of renewals and cancellations to see if your favorite show has made it.. The town set was built specifically for the series in North Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia. Known as Beaver Bank Villa, the site has a long history and many years ago contained apartments, a meeting house, fire station, school, church, convenience store, etc. (all demolished by 2004) to support the workers of a nearby military base in the 1950s and 1960s. The cobblestone streets and driveways were left, and a fake town was built on them. When Boyd steps into a distant tree, he finds himself at the bottom of a well. A rope is dropped for him. As Boyd climbs out of the well, Martin is the only one in the room and he is chained to the wall. Martin didn’t throw the rope down. I’ve loved this show so far and the acting and mysteries, etc. are definitely very cool. However, I’m starting to get a little worried that this is going too far into the “Lost” vibe. While "Lost" was also a fantastic show in terms of acting, directing, etc. I ended up getting annoyed by how much mystery there was just for the sake of being mysterious. While watching the second season, I found myself getting a little annoyed whenever one odd event. mystery was introduced, be it a symbol, an object, a thing, an event… mostly because I can’t stop myself from thinking “Does this have any significance in the long run?” Is this just one of those where there’s a mysterious mist creature or a hatch or a light etc. It’s never mentioned or explained in any way, ever. Because this kind of mystery writing just annoys me in the end because the writer can reach out and pull out anything and never turn it back around. “Okay, next up is a llama in a red hat whispering the words “paleontological” and “spatula”!” and that’s it, forgotten after one season, no explanation, it was just weird. We’ll still keep watching, but if this ends one day where it’s just “it was all in his head!” and there’s no attempt to tie anything to thematic logic, then consider lowering this review at least 2-3 points…
