Dwight “The General” Manfredi: I really don’t go to church
The opening credits show various photographic and painted views, as well as Oklahoma landmarks embedded in the New York City landscape: The “Touch the Clouds” statue of the Sioux Indian Chief wearing a war bonnet and bone collar (breastplate) placed on the Brooklyn Bridge. The Golden Drill statue glued to the Statue of Liberty.
Presented on CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #457 (2022)
The Western Gateway Arch on Route 66, which is located on one of Manhattan’s large “avenues.” In New York City, in the borough of Manhattan, there are several numbered “avenues” that intersect smaller streets with fewer numbers. I’ve always been a fan of Stallone over the years, yes he’s a sequel junkie but he’s made some really funny movies and thrown in a few classics along the way.
From a pure acting standpoint Tulsa King may be his best work, he plays the role of a mob capo with a stone cold edge
The show itself has an interesting story, is well written and makes full use of the humor of a New York gangster in Tulsa, Oklahoma without ever falling into ridiculousness. Add to that a healthy dose of violence, good writing and dialogue and a great cast of supporting actors and characters and you’ve got a winner.
